The digital publication felt like a slap in the face. She gripped the mouse, her knuckles turning white. The words, her words, were now claimed by another. Her jaw clenched. A chill ran down her spine.

She rose from her chair, pacing the confines of her small office. She felt the urge to scream, to lash out. Her chest felt constricted, making it difficult to breathe. The thought of this person, basking in the glory of her work, was almost unbearable.

She sat back down, the chair creaking under her weight. She opened a new email, but froze. The prospect of writing the complaint, of stirring things up, felt like a treacherous journey. She slowly closed the lid of her laptop.
