It had been years since Matthew had thought about Brad. Now, Brad's request was on his screen. A cold shiver ran down his spine. He quickly closed the app and sat back in his chair. He hated this.

He got up and began pacing, the carpet yielding softly under his feet. He felt a profound sense of helplessness. He wanted to scream. He kept replaying the events of his youth. The humiliation. The fear. It all felt very real.

He poured himself a large glass of water, and then immediately spilled most of it. He sat down and tried to calm his breathing. He had to get a grip.
