She felt a wave of dizziness wash over her. She gripped the edge of the sofa, her knuckles turning white. The words, the accusations, the invasive details – it all seemed to rush at her, like a tidal wave. She wanted to disappear. She closed her eyes, trying to block out the image of herself, the sound of her name.

She remained frozen on the sofa, wanting to scream and weep, unsure what to do first.
