The party was supposed to be a celebration. Instead, for Grace, it was a waking nightmare. Surrounded by friends and colleagues, she navigated through the crowded room, each face a potential judge. The book, detailing her life, sat on a table, and people were excitedly talking about it. She hadn't authorized this.

She attempted a smile, but it felt wooden, unnatural. The conversation was like a knife, twisting in her gut. She struggled to respond to questions, the details of her life being discussed so freely and openly. Her hands trembled as she reached for a glass of water, spilling some down the front of her dress.

She needed to get out. She slipped away, abandoning the party. She wanted to be far away, where no one could see her.
