Gemotions

Her voice was a whisper as she talked to her friend on the phone. "I don't know," she choked out. "I just... I don't know what to do." The rejection had rendered her speechless.

She spent the rest of the day in bed, the curtains drawn, the room enveloped in shadows. The familiar objects in the room seemed to mock her with their quiet permanence. Each breath felt shallow, as if something inside her had become brittle and fragile.

She wanted the world to stop, to pause, to give her a moment to catch up.
