He hadn't felt this disquieted since he was a kid. The time capsule, buried under the oak tree in his childhood yard, contained a video tape. He hesitantly pressed 'play'. The images flickered to life. A younger version of him, laughing and playing. Something about the recording felt wrong.

As the video progressed, the laughter faded, replaced by shadows and whispers. He reached for the remote, his hand shaking, and fumbled with the controls. He was overcome by a powerful impulse to escape, to erase the evidence, to shut it all down.
