The interview on the radio suddenly switched to a discussion about her. Michael, driving home from work, nearly swerved off the road. He gripped the steering wheel so hard his knuckles turned white. His name, his face, his life—they were discussing it all, as if he were a specimen under a microscope.

He pulled over, killing the engine. A wave of nausea washed over him. The radio announcer described his failed marriage with a sneering tone. The details were accurate, scarily so. He wanted to scream. Instead, he just sat there, paralyzed, the engine's residual heat slowly cooling against his legs.
