Gemotions

It felt as if my life had somehow skipped a beat. A wave of heat washed over me when I saw the name, Ms. Bloom, on the school website. The woman who had made me sit outside the classroom in the hallway? The same one. I felt a strange mix of incredulity and dread.

My vision blurred. A phantom ache throbbed in the back of my head. I wanted to turn away, to erase the words from the screen, to rewrite history. I closed my eyes, picturing my daughter, small and vulnerable, under her care. I couldn't shake the sensation that something significant was about to occur.
