The vibrant colors of the mural seemed to dim as she listened to Daniel recount their shared experience. "I remember us being so proud," he said, beaming. "We created something beautiful, a true masterpiece."

She focused on the cracks in the wall. The mural was a disaster. Streaks of paint, lumpy textures, and uneven lines. They'd been embarrassed by the final result, not proud.

A cold wave washed over her. She felt a growing sense of detachment, a feeling of being outside her own body. His memories were so certain, so confident, yet so alien to her. She wanted to scream, to correct him, but the words wouldn't come.
