The discovery struck her like a physical blow. “Your Diary’s Debut!” The message taunted her in its bright yellow font. Eleanor's hands shook so badly she had to put the laptop on the floor. She felt ice-cold, despite the heat of the summer day.

She sank to the floor, her back against the cool wall. She could barely breathe. The thought of her innermost thoughts, now broadcast to the world, was a suffocating pressure.

She closed her eyes, trying to block out the images, the words, the potential consequences. The past, once a private realm, had been invaded, violated. She wanted to scream, to run away, to rewind time.
