Gemotions

"Robert Peterson," the screen read. A chill ran down my back. I felt as if the room temperature had dropped ten degrees. I leaned back in my chair, trying to create distance between myself and the glowing notification.

Memories flickered, unwanted and vivid. The playground, the jeers, the shove that sent me sprawling. My fingers tightened into fists. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm the sudden rapid beating in my chest.

When I opened my eyes, the request was still there. I instinctively reached for the delete button, but paused. What did he want? Why now? The questions buzzed in my head, fueling a growing unease.
