Gemotions

He stopped breathing, momentarily. He hadn't thought about that bear in years. Thomas could barely register the bright sunlight or the chattering of the other shoppers. The bear sat there, looking at him. His childhood bear. He had thought it gone.

"Oh, it's him!" the woman at the table said, noticing Thomas's expression. "Such a sweet little bear!" Thomas’s gut twisted. He had a sudden urge to push everything off the table, to ruin everything.

He forced a smile, a grimace really. “How much for it?” he managed, his voice sounding hollow. He had to have it, to know. He reached for his wallet, his fingers clumsy.
