Gemotions

The old farmhouse felt different, colder somehow. My grandmother sat at the kitchen table, her eyes distant, her hands clasped tightly. The antique piano, the source of so many family sing-alongs, stood silent in the corner.

"The piano needs tuning," she said, her voice barely a whisper. "And… well, it's quite valuable." I was unable to meet her eyes.

A feeling of profound loss welled up inside me. The very air seemed to thicken with unspoken grief. I thought of the music, the laughter, the shared moments now threatened, and the world seemed to tilt.
