Gemotions

The lawyer’s words echoed in his ears, each phrase a hammer blow against his carefully constructed hopes. He sat rigidly in the plush chair, unable to focus on anything besides the sinking sensation in his gut. He was listening, but he wasn’t hearing. His vision blurred around the edges.

He had expected excitement, joy, the sweet taste of victory. Now, the weight of the situation threatened to crush him. He felt as though he had been hit with something. He attempted to straighten his posture, but his limbs were heavy.
