Gemotions

His mouth was dry. He couldn’t speak. The article, the comparisons, the accusations… it was all too much. He sat, glued to his chair, staring at the screen. The air in his study seemed to thicken. His favorite author, a man he had idolized, was revealed to be a thief.

He felt a hot flush rising from his chest to his cheeks. He could barely focus. He ran a hand through his hair, tugging at the strands in agitation. Each word, each sentence, felt like another blow to his gut.

He slowly rose to his feet and began to pace. The floorboards creaked under each movement. It felt as though something precious had been stolen from him, and he was alone to deal with it.
