Gemotions

The screen was the enemy. He clicked the tab closed, as if that could make it all disappear. He felt a tremor run through his body. His favorite author, the writer who had shaped his view of the world, had stolen his words.

He stood and walked to the window, searching for a distraction outside. The city seemed too loud, too bright. He felt a profound sense of loss, a hole in his chest where admiration had once resided. He could not think of anything.

He turned back and sat heavily in his chair. He felt a deep, dull ache, a constant pressure that settled in his bones. The world was suddenly a different place.
