It had seemed a simple request, easily fulfilled. Now, as the day of the party approached, the reality of the situation sunk in. The initial excitement was long gone, replaced by a deep and pervasive unease. He woke up in the night, his heart racing.

He found himself pacing his apartment, muttering under his breath, trying to anticipate every possible scenario. The thought of forgetting his lines, of stammering, of being judged, was crippling. He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself.
