He’d said it so casually, as though it was just another piece of office small talk. “Yeah, I spent my summers at Camp Chinook.” It was Greg, from accounting, and he'd just told her this while waiting for the elevator.

Her breath hitched. She clutched her handbag tighter, her knuckles white. She found herself scanning his face, searching for… what? Proof? A shared memory?

She felt a strange heat creep up her neck. She couldn’t make eye contact. “Chinook?” she finally stammered. "Interesting." The elevator doors opened and she almost tripped, hurrying inside and pressing the button for her floor with uncharacteristic haste.
