He saw the listing pop up while scrolling through his phone during his lunch break. Michael froze, his sandwich momentarily forgotten on the desk. He reread the address, his vision blurring slightly. The familiar street name, the house number... it couldn’t be.

A rush of heat flooded his face, followed by a dizzying cold. He swiped through the pictures, each one a fresh stab. The perfectly manicured lawn, the updated siding, the modern interior design… It was all wrong. It was all so…changed.

His fingers fumbled as he attempted to call his sister. The phone slipped from his grasp, clattering to the floor. He retrieved it, his hand shaking. He needed to know if she knew anything about this. The thought of strangers inhabiting that space…it felt physically invasive.
