It was a random click, a moment of idle curiosity, that brought him to the website. Then, there it was: his old house. The air seemed to thicken around him. A coldness spread through his limbs.

He scrolled through the pictures, each one a fresh assault on his senses. The new landscaping. The modern furniture. It was all a vibrant, vivid betrayal of everything he had known. His breath hitched in his throat.

He felt a growing pressure in his chest, a suffocating feeling he couldn't explain. He abruptly slammed his laptop shut, the action a violent release of something he couldn't contain. He needed to be outside. He needed to breathe.
