The door clicked shut, and Sarah felt the hair on the back of her neck stand on end. The office was decorated in sterile tones, with minimalist furniture. The polished wood of the desk gleamed under the overhead lights. She felt as though she’d been transported back in time, back to the feeling of being cornered.

He sat behind his desk, looking composed and professional, but his eyes... they were the same eyes. She felt the sudden urge to run, to scream, to somehow escape the weight of the moment. She swallowed, finding it hard to form words. She needed to focus. She forced a smile she didn't feel.
