Gemotions

A small, velvet box sat on Ms. Gable's desk, its deep crimson color a stark contrast to the sterile beige of her classroom. She had a sudden, cold prickle across her skin, a sensation like a thousand tiny needles. Her breath hitched. She hadn't received a gift in years, let alone one left discreetly after hours. Her hand hovered over the box, trembling slightly.

She took a step back, her gaze darting towards the empty doorway. The silence of the school felt suffocating. The late afternoon sun cast elongated shadows, making the room seem larger, emptier, and far more sinister.
