Gemotions

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee, usually a comfort, now felt cloying, almost offensive. Ben stood in his doorway, every nerve ending firing. He’d barely slept, his mind already racing with the day’s tasks. The empty driveway intensified the feeling.

His eyes flicked towards the street, searching for any sign, any clue. His hands found their way into his pockets, fingers curling into tight fists. A surge of irritation, potent and immediate, welled up inside him. He needed answers. He deserved answers.
