The sterile smell of the hospital amplified the rising pitch of anxiety in her ears. Sarah felt a current, a palpable hum of energy, coursing through her. The doctor's words replayed in her mind, a broken record: "Mistake... wrong file..." She replayed them. Again. And again.

She found a bench in the courtyard, the crisp autumn air doing little to calm the firestorm within. Her fingers drummed a frantic rhythm against her thigh. She needed to know everything, now, immediately.

A sudden, sharp intake of breath, a tightening in her chest. She had to get this fixed. She looked at the file, the wrong file, with her name on it. She felt a burning need to know what they knew, what was coming.
