Gemotions

A sudden, sharp intake of breath. The screen flickered, casting an eerie glow on her face. Her chest felt constricted. The words leapt out at her. From Emily Carter. He could still feel the phantom sting of her laughter. She felt as though she was frozen in place.

She looked around the room. Her apartment, which she had always loved, seemed to shift. She began to see the familiar details with a new, unsettling clarity. The dust motes dancing in the sunlight, the crack in the paint on the wall. They all seemed to mock her.
