The morning mist still clung to the air as she walked, her senses heightened. Every rustle of leaves, every distant dog bark, snagged her attention. She had an unshakeable sense of purpose. Her feet carried her directly to the largest sale, and she felt a pressure behind her eyes as she scanned the items.

She stopped abruptly. There, half-hidden under a pile of discarded toys, lay a familiar shape. A wave of dizziness washed over her. She recognized the faded blue ribbon, the slightly lopsided stitching. It was her childhood companion.

“How much?” she asked the seller, her voice strained. Her hands trembled as she reached for the bear, tracing the outline of a familiar patch. She felt a need to possess it, a desperate need. The small, worn toy felt incredibly important.
