Gemotions

The old house felt different tonight, and she didn't know why. She had picked up a book from the shelf, a book she had read many times before. The words were a comfort.

A letter tumbled free from within the pages. She bent to pick it up, her movements quick and deliberate. She stood up, her gaze fixed on the writing.

She looked around the room, taking in every detail. The shadows. The dust. She began to read. The story, it seemed, was not in the book. It was here, in this letter, a story that was finally about to be told.
