Gemotions

The invitation felt alien in her hand. She stared at it, a mixture of fascination and unease churning within her. She was acutely aware of every sensation, the hum of the refrigerator, the distant rumble of a car.

She wanted to understand everything. She re-read the words, each one a thread pulling her back to a past she'd worked so hard to leave behind.

She stood up and began to rearrange the furniture in her living room, wanting to change the space. The reunion had triggered something.
