My jaw clenched as I spotted the familiar blue cover of my journal sitting open on Liam's desk. Sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating the page, but I felt a chill creep up my spine. My gaze darted around the room, a desperate scan for any sign of him. He wasn't there. I moved toward it, each step deliberate, as if wading through thick mud. I picked it up, feeling my pulse quicken, and flipped it open to a random page. He had been reading my most private thoughts.
