“Are you sure?” His voice was a bare whisper, barely audible above the hum of the refrigerator. Liam stared at his friend, Mark, who nodded grimly. The accusations against Elias Thorne – his hero – were confirmed. It was true. His story, "The Crimson Tide," was the target. He gripped the edge of the kitchen counter.

Mark showed him the link to the blog post, the side-by-side comparison. Liam leaned in. His eyes darted back and forth. His heart thrummed. He felt a need to argue, to deny it, but the proof was there, stark and undeniable.
