The silence of the house felt deafening, broken only by the rhythmic tick of the grandfather clock in the hallway. Jennifer felt a tremor run through her. The profile picture, the posts... it was her daughter, Amy. But it was a version she didn't know.

Every sense was heightened, all the details magnified. The perfume of the lilies on the table, the distant hum of the refrigerator, all became intensely present. Time seemed to slow as she read, then accelerate, then stop.

She felt like she was trapped in a nightmare. She needed to know what this meant, and why Amy hadn't told her. Her fingers trembled as she typed a message, her voice barely a whisper. She needed answers.
