The late-night diner hummed with the comforting sound of sizzling bacon and the low murmur of conversations. Maya sat hunched over her coffee, exhaustion clinging to her like a second skin. It had been a long day of songwriting, of pouring her life into melodies. Then, on the radio, a familiar sequence of notes.

Suddenly, her spine straightened. She inhaled sharply. Her eyes snapped open, her gaze darting towards the small radio behind the counter. She listened intently, her fingers tracing the rim of her coffee cup.

The voice, a female voice, was different, but it was unmistakably her song. The lyrics, the phrasing, the emotional core - all hers. A surge of electricity coursed through her, leaving her feeling almost weightless.

Maya found herself bouncing in her seat, barely able to contain the excitement. It was amazing, she couldn't stop grinning.
