Gemotions

Her fingers drummed a frantic rhythm against the table. The rejection letter remained unopened on her desk, a silent taunt. She stared out the window, her gaze fixed on the swaying trees in the wind. The world seemed overly bright, the sounds of the traffic strangely amplified. She chewed on her lip, a nervous habit that she hated, but couldn't seem to control. A wave of restlessness washed over her, and she felt a compelling need to move, to do anything other than sit still.
