The email arrived like a jolt. "New listing in your area." Sarah's fingers, usually relaxed on her phone, clenched. She clicked the link, her eyes widening as the familiar facade of 7 Pine Ridge Drive flashed on the screen. A cold shiver ran down her spine, followed by a rush of heat.

She reread the description, her pupils dilating. The words blurred, but the feeling was crystal clear: anxiety, a tight band around her chest. Each detail, from the updated kitchen to the landscaped garden, felt like an affront. She had to take a deep breath to stop herself from hyperventilating.
