The ghost tour guide’s words, “a tragic end,” now resonated through the house like a haunting echo. Clara found herself staring at the front door, the very portal through which the killer, or the victim, had last entered.

She walked the house, her gaze darting, her senses on high-level. She examined the floorboards in the living room, focusing on every shadow, every crack. The silence felt so heavy. She felt an urgent need to touch, to connect, to somehow understand the space.

Clara pulled out her sketchpad and began to draw the room, her hand moving rapidly, trying to capture the subtle angles, the play of light and shadow, the way the history had seemed to cling to the walls. She needed to fill the void, to bring it to life.
