The lawyer’s office was opulent, the air thick with the scent of expensive cologne. The lawyer’s words, however, were anything but luxurious. A will. A trust fund. And a sister. He sat perfectly still, listening.

He excused himself, the room starting to spin. He needed air, to be outside. He stepped out of the building. The city roared around him, the cacophony suddenly intensified.

He began to walk, weaving through the crowded streets, not caring where he was going. He walked for hours, barely noticing the world around him. He needed to process, to untangle the knotted emotions inside.
