Gemotions

The phone felt heavy in her hand, as if it weighed a ton. She had dialed the number, made the appointment, and now, hours before the session, she was filled with a jittery energy she couldn’t shake. Every muscle in her body was taut. She chewed on her lip, a habit she thought she'd broken years ago.

She kept replaying the scene in her mind: the casual remark from a mutual acquaintance, "Did you know Mark Harding is a therapist now?" The image of his smirk, his sneering face. She'd spent her childhood trying to avoid him, and now, here she was, about to voluntarily walk into his office.

She considered cancelling, but she knew she couldn’t. She had to face this. She took a deep breath, mentally bracing herself for the confrontation.
