The email notification popped up, the words "Your Grade" bold and glaring. His fingers fumbled with the mouse, his heart drumming against his chest like a trapped bird. Sixty-eight percent. He reread it three times, each reading yielding the same result. His shoulders tensed.

He felt a sudden, inexplicable compulsion to pace. The walls of his dorm room seemed to be closing in. He needed to move, to burn off the energy that coursed through him. The air felt charged, crackling with an unseen force.

He slammed his laptop shut, the click echoing in the confined space. He needed to talk to someone.
