He’d been staring at the notice board for five minutes, the print swimming before his vision. A cold wash spread across his skin, prickling at the edges. His fingers tightened around the worn leather of his messenger bag. He clenched his jaw, and a muscle jumped in his cheek. He had to figure out what was next, to formulate a plan. He began pacing back and forth, muttering to himself, a frantic energy coursing through him. He pulled out his phone, his thumb tapping at the screen with an agitated rhythm.
