The rain hammered against the window, but inside the small apartment, nothing could dampen the feeling building within Thomas. He walked, he paced, he struggled to remain calm. His whole body felt alive, burning with a desire to leap.

He couldn't bear to remain inside. He strode out into the streets, ignoring the weather. He felt connected to the city, the rhythm of passing vehicles, the movement of people walking by.

At the hospital he met her. He was there for his appointment. She was waiting for hers. He recognized that gleam in her eyes, that eagerness. They talked. They understood.

"It feels like you're wired directly into the source," she said, as they spoke.
