Grace scanned the manuscript, “The Portrait of Her,” a fictionalized account of their life penned by her partner, Ben. She recognized the streets, the cafes, the small, intimate details… but the characters were shadows of the people she knew.

She couldn't stay still. She paced, her movements frantic, the polished floor reflecting her agitated state. The fictionalized Grace was shallow, self-absorbed. She recoiled at the portrayal.
