Gemotions

The announcement had been pinned to the lobby door, and Mark had almost missed it. Now, it was all he could think about. He found himself studying the other tenants, wondering if they knew, if they felt this…this *thing* that was buzzing beneath his skin.

He felt the need to go to the grocery store. He walked fast, the city sidewalk moving under his hurried steps. He walked past the bodega and quickened his pace. He then thought of the pharmacy, and the need to stock up on essentials.

Back in his apartment, he started rearranging his furniture, almost at a run. He needed to prepare, to be ready. He found himself picking up the dustpan, sweeping the floor even though it was clean.
