Gemotions

Sarah stared at the brightly colored picture, her breath hitching. The drawing depicted a fluffy, purple creature with three eyes and a single, long antenna. It was Flibbertigibbet, the confidant of her youth. Her heart hammered against her ribs. She couldn't speak, her tongue seeming too large for her mouth. Her little sister, Lily, giggled, pointing at the picture. "It's Professor Snuggles! He teaches me how to fly!"

Sarah felt a surge of something akin to disbelief wash over her. It was as if her long-forgotten childhood had suddenly become tangible again. She felt a need to sit, and quickly pulled up a chair. Her hands felt clammy.
