The digital display taunted Leo with its repeated delay notices, the flashing numbers mocking his carefully scheduled itinerary. He was supposed to be at his best friend’s wedding, the best man. He pictured his friend's face, radiant with happiness, the ceremony, the celebrations, the joy. Now, here he was, trapped in this metal box.

A cold sweat slicked his palms, and he found himself clenching and unclenching his fists. He felt a sudden, inexplicable urge to run, to escape the confines of the airport, to somehow teleport himself to the venue. His heart was screaming at him, he had to get there.

He grabbed his phone, his fingers fumbling as he tried to book another flight, a train, anything.
