Gemotions

He saw her, and a wave of… something… washed over him. It started in his gut, a dizzying sensation, then spread outward. He'd imagined this, of course, a thousand times. But the reality of seeing her, smiling and laughing with someone else, was profoundly jarring. His carefully constructed facade of indifference crumbled. He felt a ridiculous urge to adjust his tie, though it was perfectly straight, and an even more ridiculous urge to sprint for the bar and order the strongest drink they had. He found himself smiling back, a goofy, involuntary twitch of his lips.
