Sarah nearly dropped her phone when the notification popped up. *Request from Kevin Peterson*. Her jaw dropped. Kevin. *The* Kevin. The boy who'd terrorized her with playground taunts. She felt a lightness in her head, a dizzying sensation like the world had tilted on its axis.

Her hands were shaking as she stared at the screen. He looked… older. The sharp angles of his face had softened, and his eyes, she now noticed, were a pleasant shade of blue. She ran a hand through her hair, her fingers tangling in the strands. Acceptance was a click away, an act of defiance.
