Gemotions

The scent of lavender and old books hit Oliver the moment he stepped inside. He couldn’t help but pause, his nostrils flaring slightly, absorbing the atmosphere. He'd expected a musty smell, decay, but instead, it was a fragrant embrace. He took another deep breath, letting the aroma fill his lungs. He felt a shiver, and it was not from the cold.

His sister, Chloe, was already examining the kitchen, opening cupboards and drawers. "Look at this," she said, her voice bright, "they're all full of grandma's things!"

He started walking towards the kitchen, but slowed. He knew that the place, the house, was going to be difficult, but at the moment, he could not stop smiling.
