“Another one?” Mark asked himself, staring at the package. This was the third one in as many weeks, all addressed to “Esmeralda Thorne.” He thought about putting it in the recycling, then thought better of it.

He sat on the couch, and carefully opened the box. It contained a set of vintage photographs, each one meticulously preserved. They depicted a series of scenes he found… extraordinary. He sat, transfixed, for what seemed like hours.

His lips curved into a slow smile, and he felt a strange warmth spread through him. The faces in the photos held a certain familiarity. He felt as though he’d stepped into a different life. It was a marvelous feeling.
