Gemotions

The tennis court, usually a place of exhilarating competition, felt like a stage. Carlos, a skilled player, listened as Coach Davis called him over. The green of the court seemed impossibly vibrant. He'd never noticed the intricate patterns in the surface of the asphalt. A strange, giddy sensation coursed through his veins.

"Carlos, let's talk," Davis said.

He felt a curious disconnect, as though he were watching himself from a distance. The sun beat down, but he felt no heat. His senses were on overdrive. Every blade of grass, every crack in the court, was rendered in vivid detail.

He felt something akin to wonder, a vast and inexplicable awe. His entire being was suffused with an emotion he could not name.
