The small, discreet tablet vibrated in Susan’s hand. She’d found it in her son, Ethan’s, backpack. The profile she opened – "EthansEdits" – was a portal into Ethan's world. There were videos. Music. And… Ethan, himself, doing a variety of things.

Susan’s breath caught in her throat. Her son, whom she thought she knew, was a whole different person. She'd known he liked to create. She had no idea he was so good.

She closed her eyes for a moment, the image of Ethan, smiling and happy, burned into her mind. She felt a bubbling sensation inside, like she was holding something light.

"Heavens to Betsy," she whispered.
